Rust as seen in the Rust Belt

Gonna be a buisy day tomorrow so I thought I'd get trhese posted today, I would have thought that up here in Michigan I could have found more rust....lol
#1 It's been a long time since a boat was tied up
here along the Detroit River

 #2 A rusting Seawall

#3 Another section of rusting seawall

#4 Rusting rebar and old Bolt

#5 Minnow probably dropped by a gull on a section of seawall

#6 A long unused tiedown and cables

#7 A rusty nut and Bolt along a section of Seawall
I thought the colors in this were interesting

#8 Another section of seawall, I just thought the contrast with the plant was interesting

#9 A long standing derelict building steadily rusting and rotting away.

  1. Beautiful work once again Mark. I liked #8 with the rust being the focus and the plant being out of focus. I liked #9 - the rusting, rotting building tells it's own story. The colors in #6 & 7 are very interesting! Nice captures there. How did you get the bird to pose for you in #2?? - oh yeah, I forgot, you are the bird-man! I loved #1 as well as it made me think of a huge ship that would be tied to those!
    Beautiful - all of them.

  2. Okay, this is the 3rd time I'm trying to post. When I hit publish it disappears!
I think #1 is thought provoking, and as we all know you are the bird whisperer in #2. Poor little dead minnow (#5), but it makes the photo complete. I love the grit in #7 and #9 is my fave, it tells and entire story! Bravo!

  3. Mark,
I guess a good rust pic is all about texture. I liked 1,5,6,7.
I like 7 the best. I guess I'm a close up person. Very good.
